Installer interface
The installer interface is available only when the front cover is not installed and the charging station is in the Installer mode. Only an authorized user, such as an installer, operator can access this interface.
Pay attention when installing the front cover to ensure that is installed properly, and switch from Installer mode to End-user mode. If not properly installed, the end user has access to functionalities that they should not be able to access and the charging functionality is disabled.
Check how to install the front cover properly.
When the front cover is not installed and the station is in Installer mode, completely different interface functionalities are available compared to when the cover is properly installed.
1 – Numbered screw points for assembly (7, 8, 9, and 10): leading screw holes for attaching the Main unit module to the Dock module
2 – LED indicators
3 – Touch button
4 – Main information of the charging station
5 – Assembly hook slot
6 – Snap fit (6×)
7 – Lead hole for the front-cover (tamper-proof) screw
Numbered screw points for assembly
The charging station is composed of three modules. Delivered Module 1, Module 2, and Module 3 need to be assembled and attached together by screws through the numbered screw points for assembly. These numbers guide the installer in the order in which he assembles the modules and fastens the screws.
The Main unit module keeps four numbered screw points for assembly, i.e., 7, 8, 9, and 10. By these screw points, the installer attaches the Main unit module to the Dock module.
LED indicators
When the front cover is removed, the LEDs indicate the following:
LED 1 – Wi-Fi strength
LED 2 – Wi-Fi connection
LED 3 – Load Guard connection
LED 4 – not in use
LED 5 – communication with an external meter
LED 6 – connection with the central system
LED 1 – Wi-Fi strength indicator
LED 1 is an RGB LED and can emit light in different colours. Once, the charging station is connected to the Wi-Fi network, it indicates Wi-Fi strength. The following statuses are available:
LED is OFF – NO CONNECTION
LED is ON:
GREEN – Decent or Good signal strength (above -74 dBm)
YELLOW – Poor signal strength (between -74 dBm and -82 dBm)
RED – Bad signal strength (below -82 dBm)
LED 2 – Wi-Fi connection
LED 2 can emit white light. It indicates the status of the Wi-Fi connection. Available statuses:
LED is OFF – NO CONNECTION – Not connected to a Wi-Fi network
Core Wi-Fi mesh network is not available.
An external access point is configured, but not available.
There is no configured external access point.
LED is blinking – REJECTED – Authentication to the Wi-Fi network fails. Wireless access point SSID is configured and available (strength better than bad), but authentication to this network fails due to an incorrect security key.
LED is ON – SUCCESSFULL – Connected to the Wi-Fi network. LED is ON when the charging station is connected to the Wi-Fi network (core Wi-Fi mesh or via an external wireless access point).
LED 3 – Load Guard connection
LED 3 can emit white light. It indicates the status of the Load Guard connection. Available statuses:
LED is OFF
NO CONNECTION – Not connected to Load Guard. Load Guard cannot reach the charging station.
REJECTED – Authentication to Load Guard fails. Load Guard is trying to authenticate the charging station, but it fails.
LED is blinking – PAIRING – Authentication process of the Load Guard to the station. It starts blinking when the first step of the pairing is finished (the station added the Load Guard device to its trusted list of devices) and it is constantly blinking until the binding process between the devices is finished (connection is established).
LED is ON – SUCCESSFULL – Connected to Load Guard. Connection with Load Guard is successfully established.
LED 4 – Not in use
LED 4 can emit white light. Currently, it is not in use.
LED 5 – External meter communication
LED 5 can emit white light. It indicates the status of the external meter connection. Available statuses:
LED is OFF – NO CONNECTION – Communication with the external meter has been failing over a longer period (last 10 reads).
LED is ON – SUCCESSFULL – Communication with the external meter was successful.
LED 6 – Central system connection
LED 6 can emit white light. It indicates the status of the central system connection. Available statuses:
LED is OFF – NO CONNECTION – Not connected to the central system. The central system is not configured or the charging station is not connected to the central system.
LED is blinking – REJECTED – Authentication to the central system fails. The charging station is trying to connect to the central system, but authentication fails.
LED is ON – SUCCESSFULL – Connected to the central system. Connection with the central system is successfully established.
Touch button
Touch button functionalities, when the front cover is not installed, are:
CONFIG RESET (5s) – Holding the touch button for 5 seconds (until the first beep sound can be heard) resets all settings back to factory settings.
Be careful before performing a config reset, as settings set after production (e.g., all passwords, limitations, Wi-Fi connection, charging access (RFID/Bluetooth/EV)) will be lost.
FW RESTORE (15s) – Holding the touch button for 15 seconds (until the triple beep sound can be heard) initiates the restoration of the firmware to the previous version that was in use on the charging station.
WPS – not available yet
Main information of the charging station
1 – Product name
2 – QR code
4 – Serial number
QR code
It holds the charging station’s serial number, MAC address and password. These are needed for pairing the INCH Core app with the station.
Warning! Before installing, wiring, handling or accessing the charging station in any way, make sure to read, understand and follow the Safety Guidelines.
