Check HW and FW versions

One option is to connect to the charger's WebUI and head over to the diagnostics menu.

The “OS version” tells us what system firmware is installed on the charger and the “Software version” tell us what application firmware is installed on the charger.
These numbers are normally shorter, as this screenshot was made on an in-house testing charger.

The “Web version” is the version of the chargers Web interface and the “CC hardware version” is the version of the motherboard inside the charger.

The “Software version” and the “CC hardware version” can be also located in the chargers service menu on the chargers LCD screen.

  1. To access the service menu, press&hold the service button at the maintenance doors.

  2. Select the third option “About”.

  1. Read versions installed on the charger:

    • HW” – the CC hardware version (motherboard version),

    • SW” – application firmware.

Also, the CC hardware version or the motherboard version can be checked at the maintenance doors near the ethernet port and the service button:

Trouble connecting your INCH device to the backend central system?

There are three main options when connecting your INCH / DUO device to the backend central system:

  • Charge point identity code,

  • Protocol, and

  • URL address.

The Charge Point Identity is defined in the backend central system. Ensure that the value configured on the charge point matches exactly the identifier set in the backend.

Similarly, the Protocol Type and the Central System Endpoint URL are backend-defined parameters. Verify that both values configured on the charge point are consistent with those defined in the central system configuration.

If all of the above parameters match the values defined in the central system and the charger still fails to establish a connection, consider the following additional troubleshooting steps.

  1. Check if the time is synchronized (WebUI / Configurations / Device configuration / Time and Regional settings).

  1. If your charger includes Wi-Fi functionality, disable the Wi-Fi connection when opting to use an Ethernet connection.

  1. Finally, check how the DNS is configured. If the charger cannot reach your network’s DNS server, it will not be able to connect to the central system. One way to verify this is by pinging the backend URL (in this case oceandev.etrel.com) and then the IP address of the central system via the Diagnostics menu, under Run network diagnostics.
If the charger can ping the IP and cannot ping the URL, then the charger doesn’t have access to the DNS server.
In some cases you can use the default Google DNS server (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)
